Our History
GILLFOR Distribution was born from a vision to create a true coast-to-coast distribution partner for retailers across the country. At GILLFOR Distribution, we pride ourselves on our exceptional customer service, superb relationships and strategic alliances with top-tier vendors, as well as our ability to service all corners of our beautiful country in a timely and efficient matter.
Since its inception in 2012, GILLFOR Distribution has undertaken an aggressive growth plan to achieve the goal of becoming the premier Canadian distributor for building products from coast to coast. Despite being a relatively young organization, the companies that GILLFOR Distribution is comprised of today each have deep, rich historical roots here in Canada that can be traced back to 1872. It is at our very core that we are, have been and will continue to be 100% Canadian owned and operated. This matters to us and the people we serve.
Our Future
Until recently, GILLFOR Distribution was operating as 5 regional sister distribution companies; McIlveenLumber Industries, Brown & Rutherford, Brunswick Valley Distribution, OWL Distribution and, most recently, AFA Forest Products. To be in alignment with GILLFOR Distribution’s strategic growth plan and to achieve the company’s vision, it was decided that, on February 1st, 2023, GILLFOR Distribution will roll these existing brands into one unified, national entity: GILLFOR Distribution. This will ensure continued uniformity and consistency, as well as standardized best practices and a shared vision to all our valued employees and customers across the country. The heritage and history of these brands will continue to be honoured and celebrated while serving as the springboard for the growth of GILLFOR Distribution over the next 100 years.
